October 6

Sigh… one day late with the update yet again. But in all fairness, there were plenty of distractions. A thrilling Ryder Cup, the NFL season in full swing, and we’re in the middle of the best two months for golf in Austin. Hey, there’s a lot on my plate.

But enough excuses – on to the update! The paperback version of Dynasty of Evil is on shelves now; if you haven’t read it in hardcover now’s your chance to catch up on the exciting conclusion (maybe) of the Bane saga.

GDC Austin is in town. I wasn’t able to make it this year, but there will be plenty of BioWare folks there, so if you see them tell ’em Drew says hi.

I’m also still working on my new “secret project”, but progress has been slow. I’ll be honest, this is subject matter that is near and dear to the hearts of literally millions of people, so I’m taking my time to make sure I get it right. I wish I could tell you more, but you’ll just have to wait for an official announcement. However, I guarantee that when the announcement comes the reaction will be… let’s just say “enthusiastic”.

Three final things I want to mention before I go. First, some very generous folks over at the EU Cantina have offered to help me make my website look “less assy” (my words, not theirs). They’re doing this in their spare time and out of the goodness of their hearts, so it might be a while before the renovations are complete, but based on what they’ve shown me so far it’ll be worth it.

Second, the NBA season is drawing near. This year I’m vowing to finally get down to San Antonio to watch at least one Spurs playoff game. I really let them down last year; they could have used my help during the Suns series. (Not to brag, but I’ve been to 4 Spurs games in person, and they’re undefeated while I’m there. You’d think they’d just send me season tickets, right?) Go, Spurs, go!

Finally, next week I’m heading to Vegas. That’s right – Vegas, baby! As usual, I’ll be staying at thePH. In addition to my usual blackjack, craps and poker I’m hoping to get in some golf while I’m there. And since I’m heading down for a buddy’s bachelor party, there may be other “activities” as well. I’d give you all the details, but you know the slogan: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… except STDs.

Okay, that’s all for now. Next update in a couple of weeks.
