Next update September 19
The Scorched Earth is officially out!
Well, it’s out in North America. And the UK version is coming September 4! So far the reviews have been fantastic. Publisher’s Weekly likens it to “Michael Moorcock’s decadence were filtered through J.R.R. Tolkien’s heroism“. And Roqoo Depot proclaims “Drew Karpyshyn plunges readers through a sweeping range of emotions“. (I also did a cool interview with Roqoo Depot a few weeks ago, in case you missed it!) And if you haven’t checked out my new trilogy yet, here’s the Chaos Born primer to get you started!
To celebrate the release, I’m going to take a break from writing book 3 – Chaos Unleashed – while I head to Vegas for the NFL kickoff weekend! But don’t worry; I’ve got a little special something planned for you fans, too – between now and September 15 you can win signed copies of the UK versions of BOTH Children of Fire and The Scorched Earth! Here’s how it works:
Chaos Born Charity Contest
Step 1:
Pick a charity. Any charity. Something you believe in and support. Then donate to it. You can give $5. Or $20. Or $100. Or donate your time by volunteering. Or donate clothing or other items. It doesn’t matter what you do, just donate something to the charity. That’s step 1.
Step 2:
Send me a Tweet or an e-mail telling me which charity you donated to and what you gave or did for them. Use the #ChaosBornCharity hashtag, or put Chaos Born Charity in the subject line of the e-mail. Everyone who does this gets one entry into the contest. If you want to make multiple donations, that’s GREAT… but I’m still going to limit it to one official entry per person just to keep it fair.
Step 3:
The contest closes September 15. On September 16, I’m going to randomly draw one name from all the entries and that person will receive signed copies of the UK versions of Children of Fire and The Scorched Earth. Simple, right? And even if you don’t win, you’ll be helping out and promoting a good cause.
FYI: This is all based on the HONOR SYSTEM. I realize this is an easy contest to cheat at, but I’m trusting my fans wouldn’t be that low. And be aware that I might re-Tweet or share information about donations and the charities you support to help raise awareness.
