Next update: March 2

Time for another update. Got a cool Star Wars link, and one announcement. Actually, it’s more of an “unannouncement”. (I’m a writer so I get to make up words. It’s called coinage.)

So let’s start with the news. Turns out I’m NOT going to PAX East after all. Would have been nice, but schedules change. Actually, I found this out the day after my last update, so I’ve known for a while. You’d know, too, if you followed me on Twitter. Just click that giant Twitter logo on the top of the HOME page – I update things like appearance and venue changes there long before they ever hit this page.

By the way, if there’s other stuff you want to see me post on my Twitter account, just let me know. But not on Twitter. Send me an e-mail. And if there’s things you want me to talk about in my updates, just send me an e-mail. I can’t promise I’ll give you what you want, but I will consider it.

Anyway, iff you’re going to PAX East have a good time and try not to think about what might have been….

On a lighter note, there’s a very interesting interview with Dave Filoni, the director of the animated Clone Wars series talking about a couple of Sith Lords that almost made it into the season 3 episode “Ghosts of Mortis”. I don’t want to give it away, but their initials are Darth Bane and Darth Revan.

Unfortunately, they didn’t make the final draft of the episode. Like my PAX trip, they ended up on the cutting room floor. And while it would have been cool to see them make an appearance in the series, I actually agree with the reasons they decided not to go with them. (Still, I can’t help but wonder if it would have spiked my book sales….)

Speaking of books, I’m getting close to the end of the secret project I can’t talk about. We’re starting to look at cover art ideas, so the book is starting to feel pretty “real” now.

I’m also slogging away on my e-mails; I’ve got the backlog under 100. Hopefully I can get it down closer to 20 over the next couple weeks, but the weather is getting warm here in Austin again, and I hear the links a-calling from glen to glen and down the mountainside…
